A Diabetes Care and Support of People with Intellectual Disability and Acquired Brain Injury Manual has been produced for people living with intellectual disability or acquire brain injury, their families and formal and informal supports.
The Manual was written by Jayne Lehmann RN CDE, who has a combined 27 years of clinical expertise as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator with personal and advocacy experience in the disability community.
Jayne explains, "People with disabilities and the people who support them often have low health literacy skills when it comes to diabetes care. This Manual aims to change that by providing information and resources to use in disability organisations and individual clients."
