JFA Purple Orange is the social policy agency of the Julia Farr Association Inc. JFA Purple Orange is a social profit organisation that conducts research and engages in dialogue with people with lived experience of disability to develop policy and practice. Our work is anchored on the two principles of Personhood and Citizenhood.
We are not a service agency providing hands on support. Instead, we try and influence the way things happen in our communities so that people living with disability get a fair go.
We know many agencies and groups are working hard to strengthen their work in support of people living good lives. We also know that often the issues are complex, and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
JFA Purple Orange can assist you in a variety of ways to help your agency or group advance the life chances for people living with disability, their families, people living with mental health issues, or other vulnerable people. Explore our work using the links to research, consultation, training, evaluation, policy, publications, and projects.
We also have Our Space, a suite of fully-accessible rooms you can rent for your meetings and conferences.
Why a Purple Orange?
An orange is named for its colour - what you see is what you get. But what if an orange was another colour, say, purple? Would you pause and take a deeper look?
It's the same with people living with disability - you need to look beyond what you think you see.
