The Dig In Project brought the concept of community gardening into the homes of two people who find it difficult to leave home and connect with others.
Purple Orange teamed up with North Brighton Community Garden to run this project.
A group of community gardeners visited the home-based gardeners approximately once a week to plan, create and maintain a vegetable garden. The home and community gardeners had varying levels of gardening skills and knowledge at the start. Everyone shared what they knew and learnt from each other.
Each home garden was designed and customised to meet the needs and preferences of each individual. This meant a custom raised garden bed for one Home Gardener, and the purchase of wicking beds for the other.
