The Legal Services Commission is pleased to announce the new Law for Community Workers webinars are now open for registration: 6 free webinars covering the legal basics in key areas of law which are relevant to community workers and their clients.
Law for Community Workers provides free legal education for community workers in all fields of community work. The webinars explain legal information in plain language. Resources are also provided. Community workers play a key role in assisting their clients to access legal help.
The areas covered in our current series are:
- Child Protection – Recent Changes to the Law in SA
- Family Law – The Legal Basics
- Legal Responses to Family Violence
- Legal Responses to Elder Abuse
- Centrelink - The Legal Basics
- Tenancy Law Basics
Where? All sessions via webinar right across SA, join us from the comfort of your desk or home computer. It is a very easy webinar system – you just click on a link in an email to join the webinars.
When? Webinars in the second half of the year are held on Thursdays, from 12.30pm-1.30pm
What? Plain English explanations of the law; and a copy of the PowerPoint slides as well as some related resources for each webinar.
